Meet our founders
Soumak Boutique is the brainchild of Rasha and Elvira, two passionate Middle Eastern women deeply connected to their heritage and the power of holistic well-being. Born out of a love for Middle Eastern artistry, culture, and healing traditions, Soumak was established in May 2021 to not only showcase the incredible craftsmanship of the region but also to offer a unique and sustainable perspective on holistic health through the integration of culture, art, and wellness. Rasha grew up in the timeless city of Damascus, while Elvira’s upbringing unfolded between the historical cities of Baku and Istanbul, famous for their rich craftsmanship. Despite being away from their roots, both women were driven by a deep longing to bring these ancestral traditions to life in Canada, creating products that represent not just beauty, but balance, healing, and nourishment for the soul.
